LBMSConnect.org Participation Rules

RESPECT EACH OTHER.

We know our members feel strongly about the importance of the LBMS (“The Work”), its processes, and individual perceptions.  Our goal is to be a respectful, proactive community where opinions can be expressed and members can learn, grow, and contribute to future developments of The Work.

A huge part of the purpose of LBMSConnect.org is to address and cure the bias in The Work and the misconceptions that have construed due to Laban’s affiliations.  While emotions and attachments to what one chooses to believe are truths can be strong, understand that “ugly” behaviors will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

LBMSConnect.org members have the option and responsibility to create an environment where individuals who share a love for The Work can thrive with each other.

By using any part of this site, you agree to:

1)    SHOW FELLOW MEMBERS AND STAFF THE SAME RESPECT AND COURTESY YOU WOULD WANT FOR YOURSELF –AND MORE.

2)    BE OPEN TO PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS AND DIFFERENT EXPERIENCE LEVELS.  Maintaining an open mind helps everyone keep emotions at bay and topics in focus.  Respect everyone’s journeys and experiences with The Work.  There is always something to learn, hence the expression, “Both teacher, both student.”

3)    FACILITATE MEANINGFUL DISCUSSIONS; BE CONSTRUCTIVE.  We encourage excitement and respectful debate in the forums.  However, if you see a topic spiraling into a negative debate and/or you encounter someone who is purposely antagonistic, “do not feed the trolls” and report the issue (see below).

> Definition: troll. One who posts with the direct intention of inflaming a topic for the sole purpose of provoking a negative emotional response from members.

> Trolls will not be tolerated and will be subject to punishment – even though we are aware that such behavior is an expression of self-loathing projected onto others.

4)    INTOLERANCE is unacceptable.  Absolutely NO discussions about religion, politics, the sexes.  Keep the discussions on topic and away from controversy that is not related to LBMS problems and their solutions.

5)    NO hate speech or bigotry of any kind.  Contact us if you are unclear on the following:

a)  Do not post anything that alienates or offends individuals based on race, sexual orientation, gender, country, religion, etc.

b)  Do not post anything that is obscene, illegal, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, encourages criminal conduct, gives rise to civil liability, violates any law, harms minors, impersonates others, disparages us or our affiliates and partners, or is otherwise inappropriate.

6)    NO SOLICITATION.  Keep announcements in the appropriate events forum and keep them at a minimum.  Do not post your announcements more than once.

7)    PERMANENT BANS FOR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIOR including:

a)   Falsifying your identity or your work. Value who you are right now to be of service to The Whole.

b)   Violation of site security and compliance rules.

c)   Forum issues: trolling, hate speech (including sexism, racism, etc.) as mentioned above.

i)   We encourage you to report problems when they arise with a link to any post you feel violates the rules.

ii)   Violations will be edited or removed and violators may have action taken against them.

8)    LBMSConnect.org retains the right to pursue all measures available to recoup losses or damages, as governed by these Terms and Conditions.
